Vaccinations For Cats & Kittens

Special Care for Purr-fect Health!

Whether you have an indoor or outdoor cat, vaccinating your pet is a necessary step to protect him from the following serious and sometimes fatal illnesses:

  • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis A respiratory infection that leaves cats more susceptible to serious infections.
  • Feline Panleukopenia (Distemper) A highly contagious disease and often fatal disease in kittens and cats. Symptoms include loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea.
  • Feline Chlamydia (pneumonitis) A highly contagious upper-respiratory infection caused by bacteria.
  • Feline Leukemia (FeLV)Feline leukemia is a contagious virus which is a major cause of serious disease and death in cats. FeLV vaccinations protect uninfected cats.
  • Heartworm Disease A disease caused by parasites that cause severe lung and heart injury and inflammation.
  • RabiesA fatal infection of the central nervous system in animals and humans. Routine vaccination is the only way to control this disease.

Recommended Vaccinations for Kittens (7 weeks to 19 weeks):

  • 7 weeks Combination vaccine*
  • 10 weeks Combination vaccine*/Feline Leukemia (FeLV): for kittens at risk of exposure to feline leukemia virus
  • 12 weeks or older Rabies vaccine
  • 13 weeks Combination vaccine*
  • 16 & 19 weeks Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP): for kittens at risk of exposure to feline infectious peritonitis

Recommended Vaccinations for Adult Cats

Adult cats normally receive the combination vaccine*, and Leukemia vaccine once a year and a rabies vaccine every three years. (after the second rabies shot).

*A combination vaccine (FVRCP&C) includes feline distemper, rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus. Some may also include chlamydia.
